PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT on October 28, 2026 Council approved an amendment to the 2024 Land Use By-Law, Schedule A: Zoning Map of the Land Use By-law from Rural Development (RD) to Rural Commercial (RC)
Appeal of this amendment may be made to the Nova Scotia Regulatory and Appeals Board within 14 days of the publishing of this notice.

Notice of Approval: Chegoggin Area
Amendments to the text of the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth’s Municipal Planning Strategy were approved by Council on August 26th, 2026.
The mandatory review by the Department of Municipal Affairs was completed September 25th,2026. The amendments change the designation of a large area of Chegoggin from Serviced Residential to the Rural Development designation on the Future Land Use Map, and amend the zoning of the same area from Low-Density Residential (LDR) to the Rural Development (RD) Zone on Schedule A of the Land Use By-law. These amendments are effective as of the date of this notice.
